Paramdeep Mtharu has been serving as Implementation Support Officer for the Implementation Support Unit of the Anti Personnel Mine Ban Convention (ISU-APMBC) since January 2008.

Paramdeep’s responsibilities include: preparing a variety of information tools related to the ISU-APMBC’s support of the current and incoming President of Meetings of the States Parties, Standing Committee Co-Chairs and Coordinators of Contact Groups; providing support to the Director of the ISU-APMBC in all aspect of his work, including during and in preparation for Meetings of the States Parties and Standing Committee Meetings; drafting detailed country-specific reports on the status of victim assistance in relevant States Parties; developing strategic advice for the AP Mine Ban Convention’s Sponsorship Programme’s Donors’ Group and following up on decisions of the Group.
 
Paramdeep holds an LL.B. (hons), and an LL.M. in International Law from the University of Melbourne, Australia. She has previously worked as a research fellow for the Asia Pacific Centre for Military Law in Melbourne, Australia where she undertook research on aspects of international humanitarian law and arms control and disarmament law.
