Pehr Lodhammar joined the GICHD in February 2008 as the Advisor for Mechanical Systems and Contracting. Pehr Lodhammar’s work includes studying, researching, offering training sessions and writing about mechanical demining systems, contracting, liability and insurance in mine action. Currently he is also undertaking a study of civil and military cooperation in mine action. Before working with the GICHD, Pehr Lodhammar was a project manager for the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), providing support to the Iraqi Kurdistan Mine Action Agency (IKMAA) in procurement, mine action training and the design and construction of demining machines. Before joining the mine action community in 1999, he was a military engineering officer for ten years, specialising in explosive ordnance disposal and demining operations. Pehr Lodhammar has experience in most aspects of mine action, including demining, training and project management with UNOPS, Swedish Rescue Services Agency (SRSA) and various commercial demining companies. Pehr Lodhammar has worked in mine action in countries such as Iraq, Eritrea, Kosovo, USA, Lebanon and Jordan.
