Since August 2011, Ursin Hofmann has been serving as Junior Programme Officer in Policy and External Relations. He assists in the preparation and follow-up of meetings with and visits to various partners. He also follows current developments in international humanitarian law, in particular in the framework of the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons. Ursin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Political Science as well as a MA in History and French from the University of Lausanne, where his studies focused on socio-economic and development issues. Prior to joining the GICHD, he already accumulated some experience in the field of mine action, working with the Joint Inspection Unit of the United Nations System (JIU) on a comprehensive review of the United Nations mine action.
