Åsa is the Land Release Research Officer at the GICHD and joined the GICHD in January 2009. Åsa is working with Land Release projects. Her responsibilities include assisting with the development of new concepts and improving land release policies and procedures, providing operational support to national authorities, the UN, NGOs and other mine action stakeholders and advising mine action organisations on strategic and technical issues. Åsa has previously worked as a Quality Assurance Officer at the Mine Action Coordination Centre in South Lebanon (MACC SL) with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS). She worked as Explosives Ordnance Disposal Coordinator at the Regional Mine Action Coordination Centre in Sudan, employed by the Swedish Rescue Services Agency, and as Instructor at the Swedish Armed Forces EOD and Demining Centre, SWEDEC. Åsa holds a Bachelor of Science, Mechanical engineering. |
