Conny Aakerblom is a member of the GICHD Study Group. He deals with Studies, Development work, evaluation and operational support, mostly in the area of mine detection dogs and other detection techniques, and to some extent in the area of operational analysis.

Conny is seconded from the Swedish Government and worked prior to his present position for the Swedish Rescue Services Agency as the Senior Co-ordinating officer for international demining operations. He is a qualified construction engineer, with a background in the Swedish armed forces. Conny has been working on different humanitarian demining and emergency tasks for the last six years.
