Lt Col Klaus Koppetsch joined the GICHD in August 2005, seconded by the German Ministry of Defence. He is responsible for the development and production of a series of GICHD catalogues on mine clearance protection equipment, metal detectors, machines and technology. He is also participating in the process of developing standards for mechanical application. He is a senior engineer officer with 27 years experience in operational matters, training and staff work. Lt Col Koppetsch studied at the University of the German Federal Armed Forces and has a diploma as an adult educationist. Prior to joining the GICHD, he was the head of a training section at the German Engineer School and Army School for Constructional Engineering, second in command of an armoured engineer battalion and worked in the Force Development Division of the Corps of Engineers. He took part in an out – of – area mission as a camp site commander in Prizren, Kosovo in 2003. |
