Thomas Bollinger is the Legacy Systems Officer at the Information Management Unit. He is in charge for Mine Action Programmes who have IMSMA and other Legacy Systems deeply integrated into their information management working procedures. He provides technical and training support, assists with operational support for IMSMA legacy systems and its integration, develops and documents all related best practices. He also is responsible to advice on information management processes allowing for the preoperational work for the migration to the new IMSMA where the request has been made.
In addition to that, Thomas is the focal point for Mine Action Programmes in Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth Independent States. He maintains close working relationships with IMSMA hosting nations, potential partners, regional UN agencies and NGO organisations active in Mine Action within the region.
Thomas Bollinger joined the GICHD in 1999 and gradually took over the role as GICHD/IMSMA Regional Coordinator for Eastern Europe, Caucasian Countries and Central Asia.
