2012-2014

The GICHD’s strategy for 2012-2014 focuses on two strategic objectives: worldwide clarity on explosive hazards and high-performing national authorities and ownership.

Worldwide clarity

We aim to accelerate progress towards a complete and accurate understanding of the extent of the global explosive hazards problem, and the level of its impact on countries, communities and people.

We support partner countries in the following ways

  • to adopt effective survey and reporting methods
  • to implement sound information management practices
  • to document the impact of explosives contamination and mine action

High-performing national authorities and ownership

Our activities enhance the capacities of partner countries in designing and implementing programme-based resource allocation systems. We aim to improve performance by supporting decision-making and quality management procedures.

Our activities support national mine action authorities in strategic management, operations information management, standards (IMAS), international law and extensive outreach activities. Our outreach activities are guided by a communications strategy for 2013 – 2014 which was adopted by the management board on 15 April 2013.

The GICHD Strategy 2012-2014 was adopted by the Council of Foundation on 16 December 2011.
