Azerbaijan

The GICHD provides support to the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) and other mine action actors in Azerbaijan in the field of programme management, operations and standards. In 2009, the GICHD signed a memorandum of cooperation with ANAMA concerning tests of mine detection equipment.

Management Consulting

• Assessment of the Quality Management system
• Azerbaijan formed a key part in “EC-funded Mine Actions in the Caucasus and Central Asia”
• Installation of and training on IMSMA^NG

Operations

• Mechanical demining field trials conducted with ANAMA
• Land Release workshop conducted for the national authority and operators, and advice given on handover of released land

Standards

• Assistance in reviewing National Mine Action Standards
