The GICHD provides support to the National Regulatory Authority (NRA) and other mine action actors in Laos in the field of programme management and operations.

Management Consulting

• Contribution to development of one sound national Quality Management policy for mine action

• Training on priority-setting and pre/post clearance assessment
• Contribution to development of an evaluation/ research agenda in the mine action programme
• Support to the mine risk education (MRE) programme
• Evaluation of UXO Lao & SODI
• Follow up on IMSMA support
• Organisation of a regional workshop on information management
• Information management training and ongoing support to NRA personnel

Operations

• Assistance in field test and evaluation programmes on detectors.
• Support in the development and implementation of land release procedures
• Advice on use of machines
