Information Management Systems for Mine Action (IMSMA) has traditionally been a single, all-purpose tool to provide the mine action community with one comprehensive information management package. Since its initial development in the late 1990s, IMSMA has grown to become arguably the most advanced and widespread information management tool in the humanitarian sector.

The new IMSMA core represents one part of the IMSMA evolution. Currently in the development stages, this new system will be the national storage and data validation component of the information management process.

IMSMA Core will be a full Geographic Information Management System (GIS). Using Esri technology, this exciting new software will give mine action information management operators the ability for:

  • Improved visualisation
  • Better targeted planning
  • Advanced operation support
  • Tangible results

IMSMA Core will be powered by Esri's ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Portal and will be available for operational deployment in early 2018.
