Training for 2013

Mine Action Information management Qualification Scheme

The establishment of the Mine action Information management Qualification (MIQ) scheme will make training delivered by the GICHD more effective, through greater standardisation of outcome competencies for each core information management role of a mine action programme. This new qualification, proposed by the GICHD, will establish formal prerequisites, learning objectives and role-based information management training courses.

The levels of qualification are divided into three groups:

E = Experts
A
= Administrators
U
= User

This standard will be gradually applied for the training conducted by the GICHD. The GICHD will conduct certification tests regularly in conjunction with trainings. Our long term aim is to provide these tests over the Internet.

The GICHD welcomes comments and suggestions for refinement during this launch phase and throughout the life of the scheme.
