Overview

The GICHD actively participates in the work of the Convention as an observer delegation at Meetings of the States Parties and the Intersessional Meetings. It also supports the implementation of the Convention by providing strategic, operational and information management advice to States Parties. The GICHD assists the Executive Coordinator of the CCM President in organising the Intersessional Meetings. The Second Meeting of the States Parties to the Convention in Beirut, Lebanon, mandated the CCM President to negotiate, in consultation with the States Parties, an agreement with the GICHD on the hosting of an Implementation Support Unit (ISU CCM). According to the decision of the States Parties, the ISU CCM should be established as soon as possible and preferably no later than the Third Meeting of States Parties which will take place from 10 to 14 September 2012 in Norway.
