Study Report: The Development of Indigenous Mine Action Capacities (Linking Mine Action and Development)

This report was commissioned by the UN Departement of Humanitarian Affairs (DHA) and published in 1997 by UN Mine Action Service (UNMAS). It captures many of the insights and lessons which have been learned in recent years in the international campaign to ban landmines. Its findings, and the experience documented in the four country case studies (Afghanistan, Cambodia, Mozambique, Angola), add to an expanding reservoir of knowledge on the true nature of the landmine problem and how it can be effectively addressed.
