The GICHD provides support to the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) and other mine action actors in Azerbaijan in the field of strategic management, operations, information management and standards. In 2009, the GICHD signed a memorandum of cooperation with ANAMA concerning tests of mine detection equipment.

- Azerbaijan was a case study in “A Study of the Development of National Mine Action Legislation”
Operations
- Support with advice on land release, Azerbaijan being one of the GICHD’s target countries for land release outreach activities
- Land Release workshop conducted for the national authority and operators, and advice given on handover of released land

- Installation of and training on IMSMANG
Standards
- Assistance in reviewing National Mine Action Standards
