The GICHD provides support to the Technology Center for Bomb and Mine Disposal (BOMICEN) in the field of strategic management, operations, information management and standards. Jointly with the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation, the GICHD signed two Memorandums of Understanding with the BOMICEN/Ministry of Defense of Vietnam and with the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs in November 2010, regarding the cooperation and assistance program on mine action in Vietnam.

- Assessment of national Quality Management (QM) system and support to the development of QM capabilities
Operations
- Assistance in the implementation of the sub-munitions land release model, Vietnam being one of the GICHD’s target countries for land release outreach activities
Information management
- Installation of and training on IMSMA
- Information management support to the establishment of a National Database Centre
Standards
- Support to the development of National Mine Action Standards
