This four-day training provides senior mine action programme management personnel (mine action centre staff, government planning experts and expatriate technical advisers) with the skills needed to allocate resources and set priorities effectively.
The training builds upon the GICHD/UNDP Study of Socio-Economic Approaches to Mine Action as well as other relevant material and experience.

- Life cycle of a typical mine action programme and how it relates to the different stages of mine action activity (humanitarian, reconstruction and development), particularly the transition from conflict to development.
- Role of information in mine action
- Strategic mine action planning
- Resource allocation, including decisions between current expenditure and longer-term investment
- Project cycle management, including results-based management approaches
- Priority setting and task selection
