LMAD Contact Group

A Contact Group on Linking Mine Action and Development was established in May 2006. It met on the margins of the Intersessional Standing Committee Meetings of the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention. During the 10th Meeting of States Parties in Geneva in November 2010, the Government of Canada formally announced that the LMAD Contact Group will merge with the newly established Standing Committee on Resources, Cooperation and Assistance.

The Contact Group was an informal platform for discussing key LMAD-related issues, and sharing experiences and good practice. Discussions fed into States Parties’ efforts to implement key action points within the Nairobi Action Plan 2005-2009 PDF 193KB.
