Upon the invitation of the President of the GICHD, Dr Cornelio Sommaruga, the former United Nations Secretary General, Mr Kofi Annan visited the GICHD on Wednesday, 8 October 2008.  Mr Annan was briefed on the current work of the Centre, and had the opportunity to meet with all the staff.  Also shown meeting Mr Annan are the President-designate of the GICHD, Dr Barbara Haering, and the Director GICHD, Ambassador Stephan Husy.
