The UNMAS/GICHD Technology Newsletter aims to help distribute information on demining procedures and equipment, both existing and new, that can be shared within the mine action community. Articles/papers should be no longer than 2–3 pages, and pictures, tables, etc., can be included. The submitted papers should be easy-to-read articles and not deep scientific papers. They should be informative to the demining/EOD community and ideally be related to issues or procedures that can save time and/or money and make demining activities safer and further enhance productivity. The articles should ideally be on mine action technology already in use or soon ready to be fielded and include methods and processes. They should not be about technologies still in the conceptual stage or direct advertisements. Papers can also be submitted by manufacturers of demining/EOD equipment. In this case, the article should be about the benefits of the introduction or use of the product or procedure and not directly describing a specific product. In addition to articles and information of forthcoming meetings, etc., the Newsletter can pass on "soundbites” of information that do not warrant a full article. If you want to share something, or think you should, please submit soundbites as well. Send submissions to e.tollefsen(at)gichd.org or mulliner(at)un.org. Note: All articles are subject to acceptance by the Newsletter Editors. The Editors’ decision is final.
