Aurora MARTINEZ

Aurora Martinez is one of the GICHD Advisors, Information Management. She is primarily responsible for providing support to mine action programmes using the Information Management System for Mine Action – Next Generation (IMSMA^NG) with emphasis on Spanish-speaking countries. Secondarily, she is the focal point for the development of information management publications and IMSMA^NG manuals including pedagogical material and course curricula related to information management and IMSMA^NG.

Aurora joined the GICHD on April 2006 as the IMSMA Training Administrator. She then acted as the Sections’ Outreach Officer to develop and implement an outreach and communications plan to improve the information flow between the GICHD, the Mine Action Programmes and stakeholders outside the mine action world with the aim of finding areas of collaboration within information management.

Aurora has a Master in Economic and Social History from the University of Geneva and completed a two years program at the Graduate Institute of Development Studies in Geneva.
