Laurence joined the Center as the Human Resources Coordinator in April 2010. Her role includes the liaison with staff members and managers on human resources topics and the staff regulations, the effective administration of the human resources, the development of policies, processes and tools for the management of staff, the support to the managers in their recruitment and in the staff performance management and development. She is also a member of the Gender & Diversity Working Group, promoting equity and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation.

Laurence is Swiss, born and educated in Fribourg. After social-economic studies she worked initially in administrative functions for French and American groups in the private sector, before joining the humanitarian and development world: with the International Committee of the Red Cross as Assistant to the Head of Mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Afghanistan and Angola; then in various Human Resources functions for the Office of the High Representative  in Sarajevo, the Swiss Foundation for Mine Action (FSD) and the Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in Geneva.
