Lesley Macinnes-Gillies is the Head of Communications and Deputy Support Director for the GICHD, which she joined in 2006. She works closely with all other parts of the GICHD and the Implementation Support Unit for the APMBC to develop and implement effective communication methods. One of the most visible responsibilities of Lesley and her team is the production of around 30 publications per year. These form a key part of the transfer of expert knowledge to the mine action community from the GICHD.

Alongside her functional and management responsibilities, Lesley is also the management representative on the Diversity Working Group of the GICHD, which works to ensure that the activities and the policies of the Centre include a diversity perspective.

Her professional background is entirely within marketing and communications. Much of this experience and training was gained in private sector and economic development organisations in her native country of Scotland. She has a BA(Hons) in Marketing and Industrial Relations from the University of Strathclyde, as well as further professional qualifications in advertising and public relations.
