Overview

Through its Strategic Management section, the GICHD supports the establishment of national mine action programmes, the development of national mine action strategies and capabilities, and the planning and implementation of well-planned transitions to national ownership. In addition to promoting results-based management and quality management for mine action, the Strategic Management section also focuses on linking mine action with broader international assistance programmes, from peacekeeping and post-conflict recovery to armed violence reduction and development.
