Database of Demining Accidents (DDAS)

The GICHD has a progressive project in partnership with UNMAS that collates and analyses information from demining accidents and incidents which have occurred as a result of a demining activity. Principally the project focuses on 'lessons learnt' from accidents to deminers, but the topic is much wider in terms of offering the potential to examine procedures, standards, equipment capabilities and protection.

GICHD works with subject experts to assist in the establishment of a lessons learnt process aimed to share information and make the demining work place as safe as possible.

On request GICHD could provide external assistance in accident investigation and analysis, or training in investigation techniques and methods.
