Thanks to the feedback received from the IMSMA V4 Pilot Test project, Burundi received an update to its installation of V4 in February 2006. The update was performed by replacing the entire PET system in Burundi. The update was created and made available after the initial deployment of the PET version in November 2005 which, with the cooperation of the Burundi Mine Action Program, brought to the fore some weaknesses in the performance of the newly developed system. The update includes a number of changes designed to improve the performance of the system's GIS components and the process used to create local data collection forms.  Applying this update provides users with faster access to maps and imagery and reduces the time required to complete the system customization process.
