After having supported the field-testing of the new IMSMA, the Mine Action Coordination Center in Burundi is now running IMSMA version 4 in its full French capacity. All information collected from the General Community Survey has been migrated in the new system and appropriate forms have been designed and created in French.
Mr. Servilien NITUNGA, Directeur de la Prévention et de la Gestion des catastrophes (director of prevention and disaster management), also demonstrated interest for the use of IMSMA in the area of Disaster management.

The GICHD-IMSMA regional coordinator handed over the official IMSMA CD for Burundi to Mr. Boniface BARUKINAMWO, Coordinateur national de la Protection Civile (Civil security national coordinator) and Mr. Remy BACAMURWANKO, Director of BURMACC (Burundi Mine Action Coordination Center).
