As part of GICHD’s LMAD project, a virtual LMAD Practitioners' Network was established in February 2007 and now comprises over 200 practitioners with an extensive range of knowledge and experience of linking mine action with development at the community, national and international levels.
The main aims of the network are to promote efforts to link mine action with development cooperation by:
- Compiling and documenting lessons learnt and good practice in linking mine and development
- Identifying critical gaps in the research on linking mine action and development
- Providing platforms to share experiences
