Advisory Services: General Operations of the APMBC

The Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention places an emphasis on the role of cooperation and assistance in ensuring the full application of the Convention. To enable the cooperation and assistance provisions of the Convention to be brought to life, a number of implementation mechanisms exist including those contained in the text of the Convention, those which have been established pursuant to decisions of the States Parties, and those which have emerged informally. The purpose of this advisor service is to enhance understanding of these mechanisms. Article 7 of the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention serves as a foundation for this.
