GICHD Mine Action Contracting Workshop | 22-26 April 2013

The number of participants will be limited, so individuals applying to attend should manage mine action contracts as a part of their daily duties. Furthermore, participants should have a basic understanding of IMAS and a minimum of three years of experience in one or several of the pillars of mine action. Participants should work for a national mine action authority, a governmental or non-governmental organisation, or a commercial company active in mine action contracting. The workshop and all the course material will be in English.

The course and course material is free of charge. Travel, accommodation and daily allowances are to be covered by each respective organisation. The GICHD has a sponsorship programme for a small number of participants from national mine action authorities. The GICHD has made reservations for hotel accommodations for all participants at a nearby hotel.

The deadline for applications is Friday 8 March 2013. Applicants should send their applications directly to Pehr Lodhammar at the GICHD. The application should include a brief CV and complete contact details. For applicants from national mine action authorities it should also be mentioned if sponsorship is requested. Accepted registrations and sponsorships will be notified no later than 16 March 2013.
