This training, which can last one half day to two days depending on the needs and interests of participants, examines the relevant instruments of international law that pertain to landmines and other explosive remnants of war. It covers the following areas:
- Prohibitions and restrictions
- Obligations to destroy stockpiled anti-personnel mines and to clear mined areas
- Permitted purposes for retaining and transferring anti-personnel mines
- Cooperation and assistance in fulfilling obligations
- Reporting requirements
- Basic elements to consider in taking national implementing measures
- Responsibility to assist landmine victims
