This study objectives were to further develop definitions and lend support to an operational policy regarding mine victim assistance and integrated mine action.

It is also intended to contribute to the formulation of coherent and comprehensive mine action programmes involving integrated victim assistance and in such, strengthen the role of the United Nations as the leaders in both policy and co-ordination for all mine-related activities.
