Laura Biscaglia joined the GICHD in 2019. In her role as Gender and Diversity Programme Officer, she provides substantial, organisational, logistical, and technical support on gender and diversity mainstreaming in capacity development, technical assistance, and research projects and activities. Laura also serves as Secretary to the GICHD Gender and Diversity Working Group, where she assists in the development and implementation of internal policies, processes, methods, and strategies to promote gender equality and inclusion at the GICHD. She also acts as the financial focal point for GMAP’s gender and diversity team, and as Ambassador ‘s focal point to the International Gender Champions initiative.
Prior to joining the GICHD, Laura worked as a Research Officer and Programme Assistant for the Gender and Mine Action Programme association. Prior to that, she worked for the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF). She has also held several internships on international security and human rights. Laura holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs with a specialisation in Conflict and Peacebuilding from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva and a Bachelor’s degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from LUISS Guido Carli in Rome.
