Lydia Beauquis-Visser joined the GICHD as Head of the Grants Management & Communication division in January 2020. As Head of the Grants Management & Communication she leads a team of professionals who support the GICHD’s resource mobilisation, donor relations, grants management and communication efforts, under the Chief of Mine Action Programmes.
In support of GICHD Senior Managers, she develops, implements and monitors a strategy to ensure that adequate resources are mobilised to meet the needs of the GICHD. Additionally, she works closely with the Finances team that supports Heads of Divisions and their programme/project managers to have accurate financial information and advice, enabling them to manage their projects effectively and according to donor rules and requirements. She oversees the broader communication and public relations efforts of the GICHD, not only to enhance the resource mobilisation but also to ensure that the corporate communication reaches out to all stakeholders and support the overall corporate identity of the GICHD.
Prior to joining GICHD, Lydia Beauquis-Visser has worked in West and Central Africa. She has worked for the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and recently for the International Committee of the Red Cross, as well as for WWF.
She has an academic degree in communications and extensive working experience in fundraising and grant management. Lydia is Dutch and speaks English, French and has working knowledge of German and Spanish.
