Melanie Waeger joined the Ammunition Management Advisory Team (AMAT) in September 2020 as Junior Programme Officer. Her role is to support the feasibility study for the creation of an arms and ammunition management validation system, assist in project management as well as in coordinating workshops, conferences and seminars.

Prior joining the GICHD, Melanie Waeger completed an internship as Attaché at the Embassy of Switzerland in Kazakhstan.

Melanie Waeger holds a MA in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) and a Licentiate in International Relations from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). In the framework of her Licentiate thesis on the Russian influence on the Syrian proxy war, she spent one semester at the Moscow State University (MSU).
