Head, Strategies and Standards


Tammy Hall joined the GICHD as Head of the Strategies and Standards Division in January 2017. She leads a team of mine action advisors who support the administration of the International Mine Action Standards (IMAS), strategic planning processes, capacity development and national transition, the management of residual risk, as well as mine action and livelihoods.

Previously serving as Head of the Danish Demining Group (DDG) until December 2016, Tammy Hall has worked in the field of mine action since 1998 with various organisations, including: the UN Mine Action Service (UNMAS), the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. Through this work, she has been based in Afghanistan, Colombia, New York, Guinea Bissau and Western Sahara, in addition to providing support to a number of other mine/ERW-affected countries. She has also worked as a consultant, carrying out programmatic/strategic evaluations, strategic planning exercises and capacity development.

Tammy Hall holds a master’s degree in International Relations with a focus on Development from Dalhousie University, and a bachelor’s degree with Honours in Political Science and Economics from McGill University.
