Giulia Matassa joined the GICHD in July 2017. As Programme Officer, she supports the project management of the Risk Management Division by contributing to project design, including supporting advisors in the preparation of funding proposals and budgets, monitoring project implementation, preparing narrative and financial donor reporting as well as supporting research, translation, training and providing content for the website and digital media. She previously served as Junior Programme Officer in the Risk Management division for one year.
Prior to joining the GICHD, Giulia Matassa interned at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy within the Geopolitics and Global Futures Programme, LSE Consulting (UK), openDemocracy (UK), the International Air Transport Association (Italy) and within the Committee on World Food Security at the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the UN (Italy).
Giulia Matassa holds a Master’s of Science in Conflict Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science, specializing in armed group violence in Latin America, and a Bachelor’s degree in Politics with International Relations from the University of York, UK.
