Hayder Al-Shakeri joined the GICHD in June 2019 as Programme Officer in the Cooperation Programmes (CP), with focus on Arab Regional Cooperation Programme (ARCP). His role is to provide support in project cycle management and financial monitoring. He liaises with partners and national authorities in the MENA region, prepares and contributes to the design and implementation of ARCP events and cooperation programmes overall. He also assists in overseeing the translation of Mine Action material from English to Arabic and vice versa and checks and validates the quality of translated documents. Prior to joining the GICHD, Hayder worked in Mine Action with the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) in addition to working with development cooperation as part of donor agencies and international organisations in Iraq. Hayder has a BA in Public Administration from the American University of Beirut and an MSc of Development Studies from SOAS, University of London.
