Irene Pavesi

Information Manager


Dr Irene Pavesi joined the GICHD in September 2019. As Information Manager within the newly-formed Ammunition Management Advisory Team (AMAT, she oversees the mapping of global activities pertaining to safe and secure management of ammunition (SSMA) and coordinates and conducts outreach to identify global trends and implementation gaps.

Prior to joining AMAT, Irene was a researcher at the Geneva-based Small Arms Survey. She coordinated research on small arms authorized transfers and transparency of reporting practices. She conducted research on lethal violence – with a focus on monitoring and measuring.

She has authored several publications on trends and patterns of lethal violence as well as on transparency of reporting practices of major small arms exporters.

Irene holds a PhD in criminology and a MA in Applied Social Sciences from the Università Cattolica in Milan.
