Rory Logan

Advisor, Strategic Management & IMAS Review Board Secretary

Rory Logan joined the GICHD in September 2015, he currently works as an Advisor on Standards, and serves as Secretary to the International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) Review Board. As the IMAS Secretary his responsibilities include the maintenance, coordination and circulation of all information and documentation related to the development and upkeep of the IMAS framework. In addition to this he assists national authorities with the development of country specific national mine action standards in line with international best practice, and conducts outreach activities in order to ensure that the most relevant and up to date guidance contained in IMAS is well understood throughout the sector. Prior to joining the GICHD, Rory managed mine action and weapons and ammunition management operations in South Sudan and Lebanon for NPA (2013-2015), and Somalia (Somaliland), Mozambique, Cambodia, Georgia and Angola for HALO Trust (2008-2013). Rory has a MA in Peacebuilding from Coventry University and a BA (hons) in Geography from The University of Manchester.
