The GICHD Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia (EECCA) Regional Cooperation Programme in partnership with the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine, Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, is happy to announce that it will be holding a Mine Action Information Management Qualification (MIQ) at Administrator Level 1 in Ukraine.
The training will be based on IMSMA NG6. Training language will be Russian.
During the training, the participants will learn:
The participants will be familiarized with Information Management principles and concepts, the role of Information Management in Mine Action, as well as with the latest concepts of the Land Release IMAS. In addition, the IMSMA data model and its user interface will be presented and participants will learn all IMSMA functionalities, including installation, configuration, customization, data entry and import/export. Participants will also be introduced to different search functions in IMSMA. Further, the programme includes an overview of the new enhancements available with version 6, as well as a session on the online IMSMA documentation IMSMA Wiki and the staging area.
The participants will also exchange good practices and examples by sharing experiences from different Mine Action Programmes. The training ends with an exam that covers both the technical and managerial aspects of the programme. The participants will be requested to draft a work plan that will help them implement what they have learnt during the training.
Applicants for this course are welcome from all Mine Action Programmes and operators currently using or planning to use IMSMA V6. The training will be provided in Russian. Applicants should have strong technical database skills and team or project management skills.

Travel costs (flight tickets) from country of origin to Kiev, Ukraine is to be covered by each participant’s respective organisation. It is recommended that all participants schedule an arrival in Kiev, Ukraine no later than Saturday, 13 August 2016. Limited sponsorship for travel expenses may be available from the GICHD. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and requests will be considered on a case by case basis.
