The GICHD Arab Regional Cooperation Programme in partnership with the Lebanon Mine Action Center (LMAC) is organising a workshop on Resource Mobilisation for the National Mine Action Programmes in Beirut from 6 to 8 December 2016. The Workshop will be held in both English and Arabic and is funded and supported by the Arab fund for Economic and Social Development, Switzerland, United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the European Union.
The overall objective of this workshop is to enable NMAA’s in the Arabic-speaking programmes to understand the principles of resource mobilisation and prepare the development of their own resource mobilisation plan which will assist in the realisation of the strategic plan of these national programmes. It will focus on donor perspectives, policies and procedures relating to mine action, and how to use this knowledge to equip participating programmes to help generate donor support.
The workshop will take place over three days. It will comprise of lectures and presentations about developing concept notes, proposals and MoU, the art of attraction of donors and the available resource’s investment. There will be also presentations about the role of media and how to involve members from the community and the civil society. The workshop will comprise discussions and interactions with the Arab programmes sharing their experiences on resource mobilisation and the challenges faced.
After attending this workshop, participants will have the ability of developing an effective resource mobilisation process. This should enhance and improve their national capacities in terms of achieving the goals of their strategic plans.
This workshop is intended for the national mine action authorities engaged in drafting proposals and any other resource mobilisation activity within their programmes. The target participants are key staff in charge of donor relations with ministries, embassies, international donors (UN, INGOs, Corporate sector) i.e. directors, planning officer, program officer.

The GICHD and LMAC will provide necessary administration and logistic support for all the participants.
The GICHD offers sponsorships for a maximum of 2 representatives from each national mine action authority that do not have the financial means to cover their participation and if the need is justified. The GICHD will provide support in the form of air tickets and accommodation during the workshop.
The LMAC will provide support in visas and transportation inside Lebanon for all participants. Participants are requested to register as soon as possible through the registration form. Please indicate in the registration form if the participants need sponsorship to participate.
