Carlota Moura joined the GICHD in August 2018 as a Junior Programme Officer. She supports the Head of the Strategies and Standards Division and Advisors in managing a range of projects. This includes thematic policy research, support in project cycle management, assisting and undertaking missions and the preparation of toolkits, trainings and workshops. Prior to joining the GICHD, Carlota Moura interned at CARE International’s Emergency Group, supporting operations, data analysis, information and project management aspects of the organization’s emergency response activities. She has also worked with UN Environment and UNITAR in research and capacity-building activities on economic and environmental policy. Previously, she has worked with rural and indigenous communities in Peru on economic and educational issues.
Carlota Moura holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies with a focus on sustainability and environment from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva and a BSc in Anthropology from the University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL). She also studied at the University of Brasilia where she focused on participative field research methods and Latin American political and developmental issues. Additionally, she holds a postgraduate specialization on indigenous peoples, human rights and international cooperation by the Carlos III University of Madrid.
