Christelle Mestre joined the GICHD in October 2018 as Programme Officer in the Strategies and Standards Division, working on country strategic planning, the development of national capacities, residual contamination and projects that link mine action to the broader human security. She participates in project management and contributes to project design and monitoring, research, resource mobilisation and donor reporting as well as field visits and training workshops in mine-affected countries.

Prior to joining the GICHD, Christelle Mestre worked with Interpeace, an international peacebuilding organization, where she supported country programmes in Sweden and Guinea-Bissau as well as programme development efforts in South Sudan and Myanmar. She has six years of professional experience in peacebuilding and conflict management at the Headquarters and in the field in Guinea-Bissau.

Christelle Mestre holds a Master’s degree in Socioeconomics with a focus on Development Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Studies and History from the University of Geneva, Switzerland.
