Laura Biscaglia joined the GICHD in March 2019. As Research Officer in the Gender and Mine Action Programme (GMAP), she assists research projects focusing on gender and diversity in mine action. She also acts as focal point to the International Gender Champions.
Prior to joining the GICHD, Laura Biscaglia worked as Programme Assistant and Research Officer for the Gender and Mine Action Programme association. She previously worked for the Geneva International Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF), and interned at DCAF’s International Security Secot Advisory Team (ISSAT), the George C. Marshall European Centre for Security Studies, and the Swiss-based NGO Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor.
Laura Biscaglia holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs with a specialisation on Conflict and Peacebuilding from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva and a Bachelor’s degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from LUISS Guido Carli in Rome, Italy.
