This course is designed to help master IMSMA (Information Management System for Mine Action) Core and support Ukrainian national mine action programme in taking data-driven decisions.
Aim
This course aims to strengthen participants` skills in configuring IMSMA Core according to the needs of their organisations. The participants will explore how to manage IMSMA Core, including aspects related to users, groups, permission, and content; configure the system according to your organisation’s needs, design forms for data entry, create maps and apps for data visualisation and validation, configure dashboards for reporting purposes and design data management processes within the IMSMA Core environment.
What you will learn?
The course strengthens participants’ capacity to:
- Outline information management principles and concepts;
- Explain the role of information management in mine action, including use of the latest concepts in the international mine action standard on land release;
- Manage IMSMA Core, including aspects related to users, groups, permission, and content;
- Configure the system according to an organisation’s needs by designing forms for data entry, creating maps and apps for data visualisation and validation and configuring dashboards for reporting purposes;
- Design data management processes within the IMSMA Core environment.
Who should attend?
Mine action information management staff from national mine action authorities and operating partners in Ukraine.
General requirements
The selected participant must meet the following criteria:
- current role in the organisation is related to information management in mine action;
- current or future role in the organisation is related to IMSMA work in Ukraine;
- has not previously completed the IMSMA Core Administrator course from GICHD
The GICHD welcomes the participation of women in the training and will cover participants' travel expenses and provide accommodation and meals during the course.
Language level requirements
The course will be instructed in Ukrainian.
Equipment requirements
Participants are required to bring their own laptops with the following requirements:
- runs Windows 10 or higher;
- has at least 15 inch screen;
- scanned and free from viruses;
- has at least 32 GB of free drive space
Kindly note that there will be a need to install software such as ArcGIS Pro. Administrative rights on your laptop would be required. Neither the GICHD nor the venue can provide you with a training laptop, thus please do ensure to have the necessary equipment.
Teaching approach
This course is an in-person training and teaching methods include participatory group work and practical exercises in smaller groups to ensure that participants from diverse backgrounds can exchange on their experiences.
Assessment
- Participants' performance will be evaluated during the course.
- To get a certificate of achievement, the particioant will be required to complete a written and a practical test.
