Aim

Information Management System for Mine Action (IMSMA) Core builds on ArcGIS Enterprise software to support mine action workflows. This course introduces key concepts of ArcGIS Enterprise to users of IMSMA Core. Understanding these foundational concepts will help users of IMSMA Core perform their work more effectively.

DISCLAIMER: This course is based on Esri infrastructure that is continually changing, thus some figures may not be up-to-date.The IMSMA training account will be provided for one month.


What you will learn?

The course strengthens participants’ capacity to:

  • Explain key concepts of the ArcGIS Enterprise system.
  • Use the IMSMA Core portal to find, create, and share content.
  • Understand the purpose of web applications and dashboards within IMSMA Core.

Who should attend?

  • National mine action programmes and their operating partners working in information management.
  • All mine action programmes and operators working with IMSMA.

General requirements

Applicant are required to have some technical IM knowledge.

It is recommended to do Introduction to GIS for Mine Action E-learning Course - module 1 before.


Language level requirements

Learners should be able to read and listen in the language of the course. The following standards of proficiency in English should be met (as described in STANAG 6001): 3221.

  • Listening: good | 3
  • Speaking: not required
  • Reading: fair | 2
  • Writing: not required

The GICHD will provide the necessary IMSMA training account. Please note that this training account will be provided for one month.

Teaching approach

  • Fictitious scenarios, videos, quizzes and other activities.
  • Practical exercises using IMSMA Core

Assessment

  • Quizzes on each section
  • Each participant will get awarded a certificate if a score of at least 75% on each section is achieved.
