Learn about explosive ordnance risk education (EORE) and how it saves lifes all over the world!
Aim
This self-paced e-learning course introduces you to the key principles of effective and ethical explosive ordnance risk education (EORE). It is in line with the International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) and has been endorsed by the EORE Advisory Group.

What you will learn?
The course strengthens participants’ capacity to:
- Describe what EORE is and why it is needed;
- Explain the objectives of EORE in different contexts;
- Outline the core principles of effective and ethical EORE;
- Describe the linkages between EORE, the other pillars of mine action and efforts undertaken in other sectors;
- List the normative frameworks and guidelines that underpin EORE;
- Locate additional resources that are relevant to EORE
Who should attend?
- Mine action practitioners;
- Individuals from other sectors (such as protection, development, education and social and behavioural change) with an interest in protecting civilians from explosive ordnance.
Donors
Language level requirements
Learners should be able to read and listen in the language of the course. The following standards of proficiency in English should be met (as described in STANAG 6001).

Equipment requirements
Please note this version allows for 'Offline Mode' to be activated.
1. Create your account on the GICHD trainng website and click on "Take this course" button on this course.
2. Download the mobile application titled Litmos. Enter gichd as a domain​. Use your email address (same as you used for the GICHD training website) as a username and use Forgot password option.
3. Go to the course on the mobile app and download the course contents for offline use:
- Click on the arrow next to the content to download it on your mobile
- Access the content under the left side menu: "SCORM offline". Open the file once it downloads before cutting internet.
4. Your results will synchronise so that you can receive your certificate, once you re-connect to internet.
Teaching approach
- Fictitious scenarios, videos, quizzes and other activities.
Assessment
- Quizzes on each section;
- A pre-course test and a post-course test
- After a successfull completion, a certificate of achievement is generated and can be donwloaded on the e-learning platform under the "Achievements" tab.
