The Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) will play a role at Geneva Peace Week 2025 (13–17 October), engaging policymakers, peacebuilders, civil society, and researchers in dialogues that translate peace into action.
At the Opening Ceremony (“Peace in Action”) on 13 October, the Directors of the three Geneva Centres will jointly reflect on Geneva’s unique role in peace and security:
• Ambassador Tobias Privitelli, Director, GICHD
• Ambassador Nathalie Chuard, Director, DCAF
• Ambassador Thomas Greminger, Director, GCSP
GICHD will also host and participate in key panels:
• “Clearing the Path to Peace: The Role of Mine Action in Peacebuilding” – exploring how mine action supports safe returns, stability and reconciliation in post-conflict settings. 15 October, 13:00 - 14:30 Conference Center C1 (pétale 5) - Hybrid
• “Arms Control in the Middle East — Challenges and Opportunities for Peace after the Fall of the Assad Regime” – featuring a GICHD expert in regional arms control discourse. 15 October, 15:00 - 16:30, GCSP 4th floor (pétale 4) - Hybrid
