External Relations, Policy and Donor Relations

Tim van Doorne joined the GICHD in January 2026 as a Programme Officer, Innovative Finance in the External Relations, Policy and Donor Relations Division. In this role, he works on the design, advancement, and implementation of innovative and blended finance mechanisms for the mine action sector, with a focus on solutions that mobilize donor commitments to unlock predictable and scalable funding.

Prior to joining the GICHD, Tim van Doorne worked for Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance as an Innovative Finance Analyst. There, he supported the financial management and structuring of the International Finance Facility for Immunisation (IFFIm), including financial modelling for IFFIm frontloading, investor engagement on vaccine bonds, and preparation of reporting and materials for governance bodies. He previously gained experience in sustainable investing, development finance research, and diplomacy across both the public and private sectors in Geneva, the Netherlands, and the United States.

Tim van Doorne holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs with a specialization in Sustainable Finance from the Geneva Graduate Institute, as well as a double Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Philosophy from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
